High Society

First there was the 1940 movie and stage play, The Philidelphia Story starring Cary Grant, James Stewart and Katherine Hepburn; then came the 1956 movie High Society starring Grace Kelly, Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra. With lyrics by Cole Porter the film was a huge hit. Little wonder that the stage version is packing them in nearly 60 years later.
At first glance the story is merely that of the wealthily over-priviledged debauching themselves over a weekend. But watch carefully and you will see Cole Porter and Philip Barry's (the author) witty and ever so slightly wicked pastiche of the rich and famous as they prepare for a family wedding.
Sumptuously staged, this production stars the ever lovely Lisa Goddard, Graham Bickley and Katherine Kingsley in an evening of old fashioned entertainment which will appeal to everyone and disappoint no-one
